Several art works by Visakh Menon* were acquired by New York University’s Langone Medical Center and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Based in New York, Menon works with different materials. His works on paper are abstract drawings which explore concepts of structure, flow & hierarchy as informed by the diagrammatic visual language of command & control modules often seen in electronic systems, social networks, botnets and neural circuits. He also works with acrylic and paint makers on wood panel; and on collages of clear adhesive tape on paper.
Menon’s shows include at the IFP Media Center, Fountain Art Fair, NY Film Festival Openings Collective, DUMBO arts festival, Governor’s Island Art Fair, Spattered Columns (NY), Gallery Aferro (NJ), and Digital Media City Gallery (Seoul). They were also included in the Rhizome Art Basel.
Born in Cochin, India, Menon got his M.F.A from the Maryland Institute College of Art. in 2007. He got his BA in Visual Communications from Bharathiyar Univ, India
Menon, who does freelance advertising and design work, is an adjunct teacher at the City University of New York.
